Plastic Welding - Welwyn Tool Group

Welwyn Tool Group supply a variety of Plastic Welding equipment, including Leister Heat Guns and Hot Air Tools. Plastic Welding Rod is the extruded rod that is used to weld plastic. Suitable rod materials include ABS, PVC, Polypropylene, polyethylene, and many other types of thermoplastic. Plastic welding rod is available in a wide range of colours to match a project's colour.

Heat Gun - Welwyn Tool Group

A heat gun is a device used to emit a stream of hot air. Manufacturers like Leister and Forsthoff They are superficially similar in shape and construction to a hair dryer, though they run at much higher temperatures. They are often found in physics, materials science, chemistry, engineering, and other types of laboratory or shop settings. Heat guns can be used to dry and strip paint, apply heat shrink tubing, dry out damp wood, bend and weld plastic, soften adhesives, and thaw frozen pipes. They are also used in electronics to desolder circuit board components. They typically output air at temperatures ranging from 100-550°C (200-1000°F) with some hotter models running around 760°C (1400°F). Some have a rest, so they can be activated and placed on a workbench, which frees the operator's hand. Heat guns can have nozzles which deflect their air for various purposes, such as concentrating the heat on one area, or thawing a pipe without heating up the wall behind.

Hot Air Tool is another word for a heat gun. A heat gun is a device used to emit a stream of hot air. Power Tools - Workzone

A power tool is a tool powered by an electric motor, a compressed air motor, or a gasoline engine. Power tools are classified as either stationary or portable, where portable means handheld. They are used in industry, in construction, and around the house for cutting, shaping, drilling, sanding, painting, grinding, and polishing. Stationary power tools for metalworking are usually called machine tools. The term machine tool is not usually applied to stationary power tools for woodworking, although such usage is occasionally heard, and in some cases, such as drill presses and bench grinders, the exact same tool is used for both woodworking and metalworking.

Compressors - Workzone

Huge choice of quality Air Compressors, DIY to Industrial compressors from Britain's biggest supplier, all at great prices.

Generators - Workzone

In electricity generation, an electrical generator is a device that converts mechanical energy to electrical energy, generally using electromagnetic induction. The reverse conversion of electrical energy into mechanical energy is done by a motor, and motors and generators have many similarities. A generator forces electric charges to move through an external electrical circuit, but it does not create electricity or charge, which is already present in the wire of its windings. It is somewhat analogous to a water pump, which creates a flow of water but does not create the water inside. The source of mechanical energy may be a reciprocating or turbine steam engine, water falling through a turbine or waterwheel, an internal combustion engine, a wind turbine, a hand crank, the sun or solar energy, compressed air or any other source of mechanical energy.

A brief history of Leister:

Welwyn Tool Company was formed in 1952 by Mr Robert Berman when the relationship with Karl Leister was forged and a new distribution network starting in the UK for the LEISTER product range began.

The company changed management in the early 1980's when Mr Thomas Berman took the reigns as Managing Director and helped pioneer LEISTER across new and emerging markets.

Welwyn Tool Company became Welwyn Tool Group in 2005 after Mr Berman announced his retirement, and a management buyout was put into effect by the key personnel of the old company.

Welwyn Tool Group continues to support its customers with a high level of pre and post sales service and support, achieved by a team of dedicated engineers providing application advice and consultation, on-site demonstrations and technical support. With top quality products available via overnight deliveries through a network of specialist distributors, Welwyn Tool Group is best placed to assist you with all your hot air source requirements.
